Please give me back all the hours I've wasted...

Oh, here we go again. I'm going to admit right now that I watched none of the Idol Gives Back part. God Bless Tivo. I've been robbed of the hours I've sat watching & wasting. Also, this just in: Simon, button up.

1. Chris Richardson. You can change my world any day. He was singing right to me...secretly sending me signals onstage.
2. Melinda Doolittle. Tonight was the best night she has ever looked...maybe it has something to do with the fact that she doesn't look nearly as shocked when given a compliment. Go Simon. I also think it has a lot to do with her straight hair. Good choice. I think I want her to win. Of course, she sounded unbelievable as always.
3. Blake Lewis. Imagine you don't win Idol. Imagine that. Sleeping & watching, sleeping & watching...wait, what? Am I still awake?...
4. Lakisha. Girlfriend. This is the second time you've committed this crime. Singing another Idol's song is a big no-no. Know that, learn that, use that. Boobs everywhere. She kinda sounded good. And when I say good I mean not good.
5. Phil Stacey. Phil stepped out of his UFO just long enough to give us a Garth song. I just can't get past the bald head...it's like watching a trainwreck. I don't want to look at it, but I simply have to.
6. Jordin Sparks. Fact. She just might win this thing. Gorgeous dress, she looked so beautiful. But I don't agree with Randy & his comment of that performance being the "best vocal performance ever in the history of this show." Huh? Maybe Randy's had one too many mai-tais. That's just crazy talk.

I'm gonna go ahead & say Bye-Bye Blakey or Bye-Bye-Boobies.

Sanjaya Madness...

Here's some video of Sanjaya making an appearance at the White House. I don't know what I'm more confused about...the fact that people are clamoring for his autograph or the fact that he wants to be on Broadway and/or hair commercials. Whaaaaaa?!?
Maybe we've all gone to Sanjaya-Ridiculous-Land. To think that Sanjaya could ever make it on Broadway is like believing that Tom Cruise could actually be sane. It just doesn't go together.

More words at a later time, friends.

gone, baby gone...

That is what has happened today. We dropped Lincoln off with Ben's parents so we could have 10 days off from parenting, along with a 4-day trip to Hawaii for Ben's last show with AA...that's not alcoholics anonymous.

I'm now sitting here wondering what people do without children...as I have clearly forgotten. I have no idea what to do. Since we have been home, I have successfully utilized these 4 hours by reading five magazines back to back, watching all the cooking shows stored on the DVR, & talking on the phone to girlfriends for more than 3 minutes at a time. My feet are used to pitter-pattering down the hallway as to not wake up the little monkey...the TV is always set to a reasonable volume, & there is a sign on the front door which says "Please Knock." I feel like stomping down the hall screaming, putting the music on maximum volume, & advising postmen to ring the doorbell as they please. Yippy Skippy.

What will I do with myself, you ask? Somewhere downtown, a coffee shop has a very plush, comfortable chair which has my name on it. I will then sit & read while enjoying a cup o'joe. If anyone happens to see me at said coffee shop, feel free to grab a stool & come chat with me...I've got all the time in the world.

Buh-Bye Sanjaya

Well, it has happened. Finally. If you are just new to Planet Earth, let me start by saying Sanjaya got kicked off of American Idol tonight. In all honesty, I was a bit surprised. I mean, India has a LOT of people & a whole lotta phones. So no more bandana-wearing, mohawk-spiking, something-to-talk-about-singing-Sanjaya. Goody Goody Gumdrops.

In other news, Chris Richardson is still flirting with me & I've told him so many times to stop...maybe I should just go out with him already. I'll let you know how that goes as soon as we have a talk about him singing through his nose. Seriously, stop it Chris.

I was very impressed with Martina's performance tonight...what a cutie with a huge voice. But let's clear something up--what was the point of her bringing her daughter up on stage with her? Girl acted like she owned the joint...I don't get it.

Next week should be even better, as nearly all of the commercials raved about what seemed to be hundreds of "huge pop stars" coming to perform. Helen Mirren?....really? Would you really put her in a "pop star" category? I'm going to go out on a limb here & say a big fat no.

I guess we'll just have to wait another long, outstretched seven whole days to see the magic happen all over again.
xoxo

We've Done Did It.

Well, we've gone & become bloggers. BFF Courtney Goolsby (Cg Designs, Fine Stationery & Gifts) has inspired me to join the fun-loving world of information super-highway explorers. I think this internet thing is gonna stick.

For those of you who don't know us, Ben & I have a son named Lincoln. He's 2 years old & he's a freakin' hoot. Today he looked at me & said, "Ok, dude!" Don't ask me, folks.

Also, here's another something about us. We're building a house & here are some recent pictures of it going up. Hopefully it will be done by 2009. Just jokes, should be done by July.

Until next time, friends.
